  "And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtle of heart.  Prov. 10 vs 7."KJV


          The word attire could mean, to dress, array, or adorn, especially for special occasions, ceremonies e.t.c.
         The writer was able to identify a kind of attire which was not for every other person but for an harlot.  That means there are dresses and fashions that are specifically made for prostitutes and others for ordinary people.
Note: The way and manner at which a piece of cloth is being designed determines who wears it.
         There are designs that are not supposed to be for every person.  most organizations have what is called dress code or ethics of dressing, and this is common in every field or sector of work, like the banking sector, have a special way at which every banker must dress to work in each day of the week.
         Now as children of God, there is suppose to be away and manner which we are expected to appear, by reason of what we put on.  
                                      WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE DECENT
  • It means conforming with generally accepted standards of respectable or moral behavior
  • When something is reasonably good
  • Fair and kind
  • It means morally upright
  • It means suitable fitting ( properly or modestly dressed )
  • Of a high quality.
                                          THE ORIGIN OF DRESSING

"And the eyes of them both were opened and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and make themselves aprons Gen. 3vs7"KJV
         According to this biblical reference, you will discover that it was through sin that brought about the wearing of clothes. For Adam and Eve, their purpose of plucking fig leaves was to cover their nakedness which sin has introduced to them. Sin made their eyes to be opened, to know that they were naked.
         Adam and Eve were ashamed because of their sin, but not with our generation, sin does not make them to be ashamed.
Note: The primary purpose of wearing of clothes was to cover our nakedness. But today the reverse is the case. People prefer showing off the most sensitive parts of their bodies in the name of fashion.
         The fig leaves which Adam and Eve used to cover themselves were not the best for them, that was why God had to intervene in Gen.3vs21:  Unto Adam also his wife did the LORD GOD make coat of skins and clothed them.  fig leaves were man-made, while coats of skin were God made.
         The man-made fashion is regarded as the fig leaves which God removed from Adam and Eve, then replaced it with coats of skin.
         Fig leaves will never cover well and will always tend to show that sensitive part of the body and that is what Satan introduced to the world today, the half nakedness in fashion, fashion that is man-made and Satanic. 
  • What we wear should speak well of us
  • It should speak about what we stand for
  • What we put on should glorify Christ
  • What we wear should teach the world on how to dress
  • Our appearance should reveal our true identity
  • Why should children of the living God, genuinely born again and spirit filled not be different from the world and unbelievers around them, in their looks and appearances?
  • Why should a person who professes to be born again still conform to the worldly pattern of dressing?
  • Why should the looks of a child of the living God resemble that of a sinner, a prostitute, a gangster and like that of an ungodly person?
  • Why should not a believer in Christ be totally and completely different in dressing and appearance?
         The children of God who are genuinely born again, are saved in the spirit and should also be saved in their bodies, looks, dressings and appearances. We should always remember that our dressings have voices, looks and every single thing we do to ourselves.
         There are many ways you can dress as a genuine child of God without being worldly and yet you are at your best.
So therefore: 
  • Your dressing attracts good and Godly people to you or evil and ungodly people to you.
  • Your dressing attracts the right kind of people to you or the wrong type.
  • Your dressing is a revelation of your inner conviction.
  • Your dressing reveals your beliefs and values about life.
  • Your dressing makes you look responsible of irresponsible.
  • Your dressing is like a letter or an oral address about yourself.
  • Your dressing reveals what you stand for.
  • Every dress you put on releases a signal that reveals the kind of person you are
  • Your dressing also is the signal to your real identity
  • Your dressing and looks will either send a signal that you are a wife material or a prostitute.
  • Your dressing and looks will make a man to only consider you for sex and not for any serious relationship that will lead to marriage.
  • Your looks will send positive or negative signals about who you are.
  • Your dressing will attracts Godly and responsible men to you or chase them away from you.
Note: The way you dress will determine the way people will address you!

                            THE MOTIVE BEHIND WRONG DRESSING
According to Proverbs 10:7
What are these motives behind Harlot Dressings
  • They dress to seduce
  • They dress to lead men to hell
  • They dress to kill
  • They dress to introduce the spirit of immorality
  • They dress to project spirit wife and spirit husband
  • They dress to send negative signals to men in order to make them fall
  • They dress to manipulate
  • They dress to catch their victims
  • They dress to cause fornication and adultery 
  • They dress to lure into sex
  • They dress to expose the most sensitive part of their bodies
  • They dress to turn away the heart of men from God
  • They dress to evangelize for their master, Satan
  • They dress to advertise their carriage
  • They dress to attract customers
  • They dress to frustrate Godly stand for immorality
  • They dress to lead you into sin against God
  • They dress to introduce sex thoughts
  • They dress to pollute and defile the heart
  • They dress to kill your heart's purity
  • They dress to chase away the Holy spirit from your life
  • They dress to destroy one glory
  • They dress to cage the destiny of their victims
                                                                    WAY OUT
  1. You have to acknowledge that you are a sinner and need to cry bitterly unto God for genuine repentance
  2. You must have a good relationship with your maker
  3. You must return to the Word of God, the way, the truth, and the life to re-establish your destiny.
  4. Go for deliverance at the appropriate quarters
  5. Dress responsibly, dress as a child of God, dress to attract divine presence.
